August favorites

Hi guys! It’s been a while since I did my monthly favorites, and since I have been loving a lot of products this past month, I decided to share my favorites with you guys. As usual my favorites are 95% beauty and skincare related and about 5% related to other stuff. So, let’s get started and see what my August favorites were, shall we?

Skincare

I have adapted my skincare routine a lot the past few months, trying to find what works for me and what doesn’t. And it seems I have found a good routine for my skin with the following products being a part of it.

Skyn Iceland – Glacial face wash, Nordic skin peel, Icelandic relief eye pen

I talked about these products in one of my DSC_1737-1_1recent posts , but in short this is probably one of the better skincare brands and items that I have tried out up-to-date. The cleanser is the only one so far that does not dry out my face. Ever since I started using the Nordic skin peel pads, my skin has had less breakouts than before and the breakouts are gone quicker, and I honestly just really like the eye pen, even though I don’t feel like it is doing a lot for me. So these products were an absolute favorite.

Caudalie Grape water

I actually bought my first spray of this back in June when my skin was acting up during the exams and it was super hot. I initially bought it for refreshment but then started incorporating it into my skincare routine. I now use it right after washing my face and before applying day/nightcream and I also use it whenever my face feels a bit on the dry side. It is a lifesaver, affordable and it can be used on top of your makeup, so what is not to like?

As I said before in my post about this product, I was on the search for a sunscreen that could be applied over makeup for those days where you feel like wearing makeup but the sun is out so you want to be protected. This was what I found on Sephora.com that actually had tons of positive reviews so I went ahead and bought it and I have not regretted it ever since. It comes in a handy packaging, not too heavy, easy to take with you, easy to use, does not smell like sunscreen for hours after you’ve applied it. It is a bit on the pricier side, but so worth it. Honestly, I think this one will be an essential in my bag, wherever I go.

Makeup

Benefit roller lash

Ever since I first purchased this mascara in February, it has been my holy grail and number one mascara. It gives you such long lashes, makes your eyes look more open, doesn’t give me panda-eyes by the end of the day. I have done a before and after with this mascara so you can see for yourself why this is in my favorites.

Benefit brow products

I only bought two things of Benefit’s new brow-line, but I have been loving this. I love pairing them with my Milani brow pomade for the best effect, but they can be used on their own as well. I have the color 1, which is the lightest shade there is and it looks very natural, doesn’t get clumpy, stays on very well, but be careful when touching your face as it might smear a bit.

Milani stay-put brow

I have made a post about this a couple of months ago I think, but I am still using this. I still find it one of the easiest products to work with, it looks natural, stays on very well, is affordable and cruelty-free!

Physicians formula butter bronzer

I never actually used bronzer before I bought this one, crazy right? I always felt like it wasn’t pretty and it just didn’t look natural, but with this one it looks natural, it isn’t overly bronzed so perfect for my light complexion, and it gives a glowy finish. It is drugstore and it smells like vacation, I LOVE THE SCENT. It reminds me of summer every time I open it. Here is a first impression of the product.

Anastasia beverly hills glowkit in moonchildDSC_1726-1

Honestly, do I even need to say why I love this? It’s gorgeous, has unusual but still pretty colors, is unique, the packaging is adorable, the glow it gives you is absolutely gorgeous, … I also reviewed this one and the Sweets glowkit over here.

Urban Decay Backtalk

This one has been my go-to lipcolor when I want to tone it down a little lately. It is a gorgeous every day color, not really nude on my lips, but definitely wearable to work/school etc. It is a nice formula, you can easily reapply without the lipstick starting to crack, no nasty scents, … . Just gorgeous.

Hourglass ambient palette

DSC_0103-1_1.jpgThere is a full review coming on this palette, but let’s just keep it short for now and say that I love it. The colors are subtle, yet gorgeous and pigmented and you can easily build them up. They feel like satin on your skin, the highlighters do not contain too much glitter if that is what you are looking for, it is very wearable, not over the top, yet still makes an incredible difference when wearing any of the shades. And the packaging is so clean, yet so sophisticated, it does not look cheap at all.

Other products

Quay Australia ‘Every little Thing’ Sunglasses

I honestly wasn’t too sure if I wanted to spend that much money on sunglasses, but boy I am sure I did. You can feel the difference with your cheap sunglasses that you buy for like 2€ or so. These are much more firm, don’t feel like they could fall apart every minute and I also feel like they block out the sun from my eyes better, but that might just be because they are pretty big (BUT STILL GORGEOUS). So you should take a look at this brand if you haven’t yet.

Sephora x Minnie Mouse hand mirrorDSC_0107-1_1

This is just the cutest mirror and I had to get it. It comes with this adorable pouch and it has one normal mirror and one zoomed-in mirror. I love how it is Minnie’s ears + a bow when you fold it open and let’s be honest, I bought this just because the packaging is absolutely stunning. It is currently still online at Sephora.com if you want to buy it.

That were my August favorites. Were there any products that you have tried and loved? Let me know in the comments below.
